South West Hertfordshire Astronomical Society

About the Club

South West Herts Astronomical Society (SWHAS) is based in the Rickmansworth area of Hertfordshire with a membership of about 150.

If you are interested in astronomy, astro imaging, space, the planets, or just want to find out about what equipment to use, come along to one of their meetings where you will find like-minded people willing to share their experiences and knowledge.

They welcome people of all skill levels and ages and aim to help them get the very best out of the hobby.

Listen to interesting talks about the current hot topics in astronomy, space exploration, related technologies, telescopes and astro imaging.

Find out about what's in the sky in the coming month and meet other people who have an interest, passion and enthusiasm for astronomy and stargazing.

The Society owns its own observatory for exclusive use by it’s members and hosts regular observing sessions there.

SWHAS also do outreach sessions for schools, cubs, scouts, brownies and guides.
