Salford Astronomical Society

About the Club

The society is made up of a friendly group of people who meet regularly and share a passion for Astronomy.

The individuals in the group have a range of interests that include astronomical events, nebulae, binary stars, imaging, telescope and binocular viewing and rockets and space travel.

The members range in age and experience and we are always ready and willing to welcome any newcomers and pass on help and advice where we can.

During the winter months, we will spend time viewing through either our own ‘scopes or through any of the Observatory’s telescopes, including the 18.5inch reflector, the 7th largest publicly owned in England.
